Dr. Frank Houston

George Frank Houston, Ph.D. previously served as the Dean for School of Graduate, Adult, and Professional Education and is currently the Director of Online Learning in the College of Liberal Arts at Benedictine University. He currently serves as interim CEO for Prodigy Grail, a privately held start-up focusing on development of social emotional learning skills for middle and high school students. Houston serves on the board of directors at The Education Center for Visually Impaired and the Illinois Institute of Independent Colleges and Universities in Springfield, Illinois. Since 2008, Houston has designed online lessons and e-units for Business Management and Human Growth and Development online libraries through CAERT, Inc., a subcontractor for the Illinois State Board of Education, which provide an integrated online system to plan, deliver, and assess career and technical education instruction for K-12 teachers.

Dr. Steve Fouts

Dr. Fouts is a 20-year veteran urban educator from Chicago in the mathematics and humanities fields who has experience teaching on the primary, secondary, and undergraduate level. Dr. Fouts has published several op-ed pieces on social justice issues in the Chicago Sun Times and the Chicago Tribune and is founder of Teach Different – an EdTech startup from Chicago, Illinois – that supports professional teacher development in facilitating classroom discussions.

Kimberly Mitchell

Kimberly started her career as a fifth grade and middle school science teacher in Los Angeles, California through the Teach For America program and has taught bilingual kindergarten (Colegio Americano in Quito, Ecuador), initiated IBDP as vice principal (Chief Sealth International High School) and started the IB PYP as principal (ACS Athens Greece). Kimberly chaired the IB Regional Council for the Americas for six years and was an IBEN consultant. In addition to studying inquiry approaches in a range of subjects and grade levels, Kimberly spent the last six years teaching inquiry-based undergraduate courses at the University of Washington’s College of Education in Seattle.
